This past week has seen us promote and attend the ISITC Europe quarterly conference held at Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) and featuring presentations from Stephen Bruel, Head of Derivatives Product at BBH, Anthony Kirby (Ernst and Young), Tony Freeman (Omgeo), John Wilson and Ed Goudstone (Linedata). While in the states, our financial services team was pressing the flesh while they hit the halls of SIFMA.
And last week, our chairman was speaking about what the digital revolution means for businesses operating in the energy sector in an address to delegates at POWER-GEN Europe where our event marketing team was manning the press room and our energy team was networking furiously round the conference floor meeting companies like ElectraTherm, Flanders and Beumer Group. Meanwhile our B2B technology team attended the Cloud Computing World Forum at Earls Court where it chatted security with CA, green data centres with Green Mountain and privacy issues with Terremark.
At the ExCel exhibition centre, towards the end of the week our energy team was at it again. This time at the Global Offshore Wind event. Here, the team met the real innovators of our time the engineering technology companies as well as the companies that will help them – architectural consultancies and (whisper it) lawyers who will turn offshore into reality.
Why go to these shows? Well we are passionate about what we are selling and want to have as many conversations as we can with as many people about what we do. But more than that, we are (and want to make sure we always are) completely connected to the markets we serve. Attending these events means that we are up to speed with the issues and the journalists who cover the space as well as the companies and personalities who will help shape it.
