Months in the making, Aspectus PR’s Quadron Data Solutions NYC press tour has finally come to fruition! Freak blizzards and 17 inches of snow had prevented a previously scheduled media extravaganza from taking place but, with a little finesse (and a little luck too), we were able to reschedule four appointments for Quadron’s CEO, David Fetter, to meet his target media.
Starting the day at Securities Technology Monitor, David sat down with an interesting and engaging editor for a coffee overlooking the Statue of Liberty. As a native Pittsburghian, I can say that view never gets old. As the conversation progressed, a topic arose that wasn’t originally in the game plan. Rolling with the punches paid off big time however, and this has resulted in a great piece by the editor exploring the physical security of data warehouses (a Part II is now in the works).
Next up on the list was a visit to TabbFORUM in order to tape three videos for their website. The topics included the convergence of broker/dealer and investment advisor service delivery models driven by Dodd-Frank, market surveillance and compliance for broker/dealers and regulators, and the changing role of the clearing firm. Each of these was translated into its own short video. Subsequently posted to TabbFORUM’s site and supported by David’s “Changing Role of the Clearing Firm” bylined article, the videos have really added an extra dimension to the growing level of press coverage for Quadron.
With the videos wrapped, we were then off to lunch to meet another reporter from Investment News, who we have been liaising with for quite some time and were anxious to finally meet in person. Three authentic Japanese noodle dishes, a SCUBA diving and NASA/aviation conversation later, we were off to our final appointment with a full belly and new friend at a key publication.
Rounding out our full day of interviews, we chatted with an editor at Advanced Trading. Although the beat of this particular chap and our niche market didn’t quite line up, the conversation paved the way for a few introductions to their sister publication, Bank Systems & Technology and Insurance & Technology.
All in all, we secured three vendor videos, a byliner placement and a fabulous article off the back of one full day of our media-a-palozza, and David has been thrilled with the momentum Quadron’s PR campaign has garnered as a result.
