Aurum Solutions is a fintech specializing in financial reconciliation, with presence across the UK and Europe. They challenged us to generate high-impact coverage across the national and top-tier banking and payments media, with a core focus on highlighting hy banks and payment service providers need to pay closer attention to the back office.
The Challenge
Despite offering a market-leading reconciliation product, Aurum Solutions struggled with brand awareness. While back-office functions like reconciliation are critical to smooth financial operations, they often fail to capture the attention of journalists.
Our main challenge was to create engaging, newsworthy angles that would pique journalists’ interest. To achieve this, we needed to encourage our spokespeople to share bold, clear, and provocative opinions – after all, journalists are rarely drawn to opinions that sit on the fence. Aspectus was tasked with crafting punchy and compelling narratives, relevant to the current media landscape, to get Aurum’s spokespeople noticed.
Our Approach
To ensure relevance and capture journalists’ attention, we identified key, newsworthy hooks, such as the implementation of T+1 and the UK general election, aligning our commentary with the stories journalists were already covering. We also ran a series of partner press releases with high-profile names like Moneybox, maintaining a consistent drumbeat of coverage in trade outlets.
In addition, we proactively prepared commentary ahead of key milestones and events, such as the UK Autumn Budget, enabling us to offer timely insights to journalists.
As a result, we secured over 50 pieces of coverage in top-tier publications like Bloomberg, The Banker, Money Marketing and City AM.
