The Brief
Fathom, a global flood risk intelligence company, needed to broaden its media profile beyond Europe and parts of the US. Aspectus was brought in to drive awareness across the wider US and Asia-Pacific region, position Fathom’s leadership as trusted industry voices and generate sustained coverage across insurance, technology and climate media.
The Challenge
While Fathom’s global flood modeling capabilities are world-class and already gaining established footholds with top-tier media in New York and Washington, it sought to broaden visibility across the wider US & APAC region. In the US, the conversation centred on AI, data quality and risk management; while in Asia-Pacific, the focus was around escalating climate losses and insurance protection gaps. By evolving Fathom’s deeply technical proposition into stories compelling enough to land with Bloomberg, Associated Press and specialist trade titles alike, Aspectus helped strategically position Fathom’s spokespeople and secure consistent top-tier media hits in a fast-moving global news cycle.
The Approach
We built a strategic communications programme anchored around Fathom’s most newsworthy moments, supplemented by an always-on media outreach effort to secure expert commentary, bylines and broadcast appearances. In Asia-Pacific, we leveraged regional flood events and policy developments to keep Fathom media-visible between announcements, and in the US, we opened doors to top-tier technology and broadcast outlets while securing coverage with the likes of WSJ and Newsweek.
