The top EdTech awards to apply for in 2026

By Catherine Kawaja, Associate Account Executive, Aspectus Group

Navigating industry awards can be overwhelming in a fast-growing EdTech landscape. This blog breaks down the top EdTech awards to apply for in 2026, why they matter, and how to craft winning submissions that elevate your organization’s credibility, visibility, and EdTech marketing strategy.

Why EdTech awards matter in 2026

In a rapidly evolving sector, EdTech awards serve as shorthand for trust, innovation, and impact. Winning, or even being shortlisted, demonstrates that your organization delivers meaningful educational value, whether through AI-powered tools, assessment innovation, accessibility solutions, or learning experience design. In effect, awards act as a key building block in your EdTech marketing strategy, helping educators and institutions cut through the crowd to identify the solutions they can trust.

From my own experience as a teacher, I’ve seen first-hand how awards help position companies as standout, reliable choices for education tools. Beyond achievement, awards open conversations with institutions, strengthen investor confidence, and provide measurable proof of impact in learning environments.

That credibility is only becoming more important as AI increasingly determines how organizations are discovered and evaluated. 71.5% of users now incorporate AI tools into their information discovery process. Companies used to rely on SEO and advertising deals to boost their reputation. Today, EdTech marketing must do more to be visible.  LLM outputs typically reflect what is most widely documented, discussed, and evidenced in their training data – which in many cases is online information. An award win offers exactly that: a verifiable, third-party stamp of excellence that builds trust not only with human-decision-makers but the agentic tools that guide them.

How to choose the right EdTech awards

  1. Identify your organization’s ‘‘superpowers’’: Before diving in, clarify your strengths. Are you pioneering AI in education? Transforming classroom assessment? Delivery accessibility breakthroughs? Your differentiation from the market should guide which awards you target.
  2. Align with your strategy: An award that doesn’t speak directly to your company values and goals isn’t worth winning, no matter how prestigious. If improving access is central to your roadmap, awards recognising inclusion will be a natural fit. If higher education is a priority, look for awards with that specificity.
  3. Check eligibility and fine print: Many awards have criteria on size, product availability, revenue, region, or customer base. Reviewing these early saves valuable time and avoids crafting submissions you ultimately cannot enter.
  4. Evaluate prestige and ROI: Reputable awards, especially those with international judges or established institutions, carry long-term brand value. Assess the visibility of past winners and whether the award aligns with your market.
  5. Consider budget and resource requirements: Award submissions take time. Balancing storytelling, evidence, and narrative structure is easier with proper planning, and external support can make a major difference.

How to create a winning EdTech award submission

The best submissions tell a story that blends innovation, measurable outcomes, and compelling human context. Judges remember emotional resonance as much as they remember hard data, and this is especially true in the field of EdTech marketing.

Show don’t tell: Any EdTech agency can claim their platform ‘‘improves learning outcomes.’’ What matters is proof in the form of uptake levels, test improvement, teacher testimonials, before-after comparisons, and user-centred narrative moments that bring your impact to life.

Use an easy-to-follow structure: Judges often read hundreds of entries, many likely showcasing tangible improvements. However, your entry can stand out if you implement confident language, create a clear narrative arc, and speak directly to user needs instead of just amplifying sales features.

Bring in an outside perspective: Working with an objective editorial or PR partner helps identify your strongest angles and the weaknesses you might overlook. A second opinion ensures submissions stand out with clarity and depth
