Between 40,000 and 50,000 new offshore jobs could be created, according to the results of an annual survey just published, but a continuing skills shortage is also forecast as demand continues to rise for qualified and experienced staff.

With such an abundance of opportunities, experienced oil and gas professionals should be in the fortunate position of being able to pick and choose their next role, as well as command a high salary. But companies operating in a highly competitive sector where demand for talent is strong need to ensure that they clearly communicate the benefits of working for them to potential recruits.

A company’s reputation and visibility in the marketplace directly influences its ability to attract and retain the best talent.
