On Thursday, April 26 the Aspectus North America team was busy bustling about a swanky room at Flute in Midtown Manhattan entertaining journalists and clients. We hosted nearly 50 guests including journalists from top tier publications such as Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Financial Times and SmartMoney as well as some key financial services trade publications such as Institutional Investor, Financial Planning, Waters, TabbFORUM, FTF News and Thomson Reuters Accelus.
Following our recent two year anniversary here in North America, we wanted to go a step beyond a quick coffee or post-work drink and throw a party to thank the journalists and clients who have supported us from day one. Some of our clients such as NICE Actimize, Asset Control, Fidessa, Quadron Data Solutions, G2 FinTech and EcoSys joined in the festivities and presented gifts to a handful of lucky journalists ranging from Starbucks gift cards and vintage red wine to Dom Perignon and a helicopter ride around the city.
We know that the key to media success begins with the relationship with the reporter and how one maintains and nurtures that relationship over time. Meeting a new reporter is always fun, but understanding how to best work with that reporter year after year from publication to publication is a dance. It takes skill and trust to continue to provide journalists with compelling story ideas, useful information and interesting spokespersons, and truly understanding what – and what doesn’t – make a journalist tick is key. But ultimately the secret sauce is the face-to-face relationship. Along with great content, deep industry knowledge and a real commitment to client delivery, our press relationships complete the jigsaw of how we are able to keep securing stand out coverage for clients year in, year out. We look forward to continuing to develop those relationships while having some fun along the way.
