Europe’s most anticipated energy event of the year, POWER-GEN Europe and its co-located shows, Renewable Energy World Europe and Nuclear Power Europe kicked off in Milan this week and Aspectus PR are here to man the press office, hit the show floor and report on all the hot button issues being discussed.
The event opened in spectacular fashion with keynote sessions from leading figures in the power industry. Conference Director, Nigel Blackaby, welcomed a packed auditorium of delegates and all three speakers were united in their belief that power generation is undergoing a period of unparalleled change, driven by innovation and energy policies.
Aspectus also attended the hotly contested panel discussion on investment in nuclear power after Fukishima. The debate offered one of the first opportunities the nuclear industry has had to come together and discuss the industry’s outlook and future after Fukishima and opinion was understandably split between the eight panellists.
Today will see the much anticipated joint plenary panel discussion take place which will debate European power policy and if our industry really can deliver. Attendees can watch, with the opportunity to ask questions of the panellists.
This year’s event has seen a record number of exhibitors, topping 600 for the first time. Advanced visitor registrations have also superseded those of last year with attendance from utilities rising especially fast.
Keep posted for all the latest news updates and events to come out of POWER-GEN Europe!
