As some of you may know, Aspectus PR is working with PennWell Publishing to promote The POWER-GEN Europe conference and exhibition 2010. This year the event will be held between the 8th-10th June 2010 at the RAI, Amsterdam. This is without doubt the biggest annual event for the European power industry, and we are thrilled to be part of it. The annual event is split into four co-located shows to ensure that every sector of the power industry is represented, the three-day event provides a vast programme of strategic, technical, key-note and plenary sessions, along with over 450 exhibitors showcasing a diverse range of products and services. I thought I’d share a few of the interesting things that are happening during the show. As mentioned, there are four shows within the event, POWER-GEN Europe, Nuclear Power Europe, POWER-GRID Europe and Renewable Energy World Europe. So I’ll mention a few key bits from each. Highlights of the POWER-GEN Europe 2010 event will include keynote speaker Joost van Dijk, CEO of E.ON for Benelux and The Netherlands who will be presenting on how the utility industry is viewing the current challenges and opportunities. The relative failure of the Copenhagen climate change talks in December and the effect this has on the electricity sector will be the subject of a special joint plenary debate, being moderated this year by well known international broadcaster, Stephen Sackur, presenter of HARDtalk, BBC World’s flagship current affairs programme. Nuclear Power Europe is a new addition to POWER-GEN Europe 2010. The panel discussions promise to be a highlight of the three-day event, with representatives from, among others, Greenpeace, the European Commission, RWE and Eurelectric. ‘The Viability of Nuclear Power: Politics, Economics and the Environment’ is set to be a stirring, informative and fascinating conference session. In POWERGRID Europe attendees can gather a wealth of T&D knowledge from sessions on communications, standards, renewable integration and the smart grid. In the final show within the event, Renewable Energy Europe, there will be unique forums debating the key renewable issues, the latest technologies and strategies, discussions on commercial and financial topics, and the chance to meet colleagues from the renewable energy community. The POWER-GEN Europe conference and exhibition is also pleased to announce Masdar, the Abu Dhabi based future energy company, as the Global Future Energy Partner at this year’s show. Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, will be attending as a keynote speaker at the Congress Centre auditorium
